This is probably the most challenging review I've ever had to write because I have so much to say about A Drowned Kingdom and oh so many notes. I picked this book up after hearing about it through SPFBO and being recommended by a couple of friends. 'A Drowned Kingdom' is about great a great civilisation, with advanced weaponry and engineering, that gets swallowed by the ocean and the story of the outcast survivors?! I couldn't not read it. I named my daughter Atlantis after all!!
This was a super quick, beautiful, wholesome and heartwarming fantasy read, for adults and middle grade alike.
A grumpy retired war hero (dragon) living a pretty solitary and routine life. A small stray Hooman that arrives at his boulder. A quest for applesauce and an unlikely friendship that will give you all of the feels.
Kia Ora and welcome back friends!! It's been a minute but I am super excited to be returning with my stop for the book tour of Blackcoat by Steve J McHugh. Thanks so much to Justine & Timy @ Storytellers on Tour for allowing me to be a part of the tour and a massive shoutout to Steve McHugh for the new release and thank you so much for sending me the first ever copy of a book sent from an author/publisher ever!!! I may have squealled when I opened the mailbox to see that. (This is very much a big deal for me especially being way down here in little ole' Australia.)
Read on where you will find more about the book, my thoughts, links to grab you a copy, and how to enter the GIVEAWAY!!!
I'm super excited today to be sharing my review and favourite quotes of "Spark to Shadow" by Atima Kim. This just so happens to be... my very first Blog Tour!!! So I must firstly start by saying a massive thank you to TBR and Beyond Tours for selecting me. And also to Atima Kim for writing Spark to Shadow and allowing me the pleasure of reading it.
What in the f*ck did I just read?!
Ok, I thought I knew what I was going to get with this one. I even read a couple of reviews, which is not like me at all. I'm new to this genre so I wanted to be prepared.I WAS NOT PREPARED!!!
A Cinderella retelling with badass lesbians that save themselves and want to overthrow the patriarchy? Yes please!!!
It may be early in the piece, but I'm calling it. Best Middle Grade of the YEAR!!! Bold claim? You must not have read it yet. This gave me HP sorting hat and Minitry of Magic vibes at the begining but it is SO much more. Amari & the Night Brothers (Supernatural Investigations #1) Synopsis… Continue reading Amari & The Night Brothers – B.B Alston

I read Lagoon as part of the Trope-ical readathon, hosted by JenJen Reviews for the SSF team read 'First Contact'. I really wanted to like this. However, I did not. I didn't know what book to post as my first review but I honestly love this new genre!!! This is my 3rd series of the Seasoned Paranormal Women genre and it GIVES ME LIFE...And hope 😬 I am steadily but surely approaching midlife myself (32) and reading MCs in their early 20s just doesn't do it for me like it used to. Reading about bad ass women who know, accept and love themselves, their cellulite, their muffin tops and their life choices, is just *insert chef's kiss here.
