This is probably the most challenging review I've ever had to write because I have so much to say about A Drowned Kingdom and oh so many notes. I picked this book up after hearing about it through SPFBO and being recommended by a couple of friends. 'A Drowned Kingdom' is about great a great civilisation, with advanced weaponry and engineering, that gets swallowed by the ocean and the story of the outcast survivors?! I couldn't not read it. I named my daughter Atlantis after all!!

An outcast shifter agent. A ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฝ-๐๐ต๐ถ๐-๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ-๐ฏ๐๐๐ kind of guy more than a follow procedure guy. Gets seconded to a secret unit. Crazy sexy chemistry with his boss. Amazing relationships and banter. This has been my favourite queer romance of the year so far. I got all the feels.
A Cinderella retelling with badass lesbians that save themselves and want to overthrow the patriarchy? Yes please!!!
It may be early in the piece, but I'm calling it. Best Middle Grade of the YEAR!!! Bold claim? You must not have read it yet. I didn't know what book to post as my first review but I honestly love this new genre!!! This is my 3rd series of the Seasoned Paranormal Women genre and it GIVES ME LIFE...And hope ๐ฌ I am steadily but surely approaching midlife myself (32) and reading MCs in their early 20s just doesn't do it for me like it used to. Reading about bad ass women who know, accept and love themselves, their cellulite, their muffin tops and their life choices, is just *insert chef's kiss here.
